Katie from the blog Feeding Boys and a Firefighter has just completed her four weeks long experience with a Miele steam oven As a a family cook, she was especially interested in finding out how the appliance would deal with kitchen staples like veg and rice.
“Cooking rice is also a doodle in the steam oven. I’m not brilliantly confident when it comes to this task, so to have a foolproof method on hand has been great. You just put equal parts water and rice in a dish and steam for 10 minutes and you’re rewarded with perfectly fluffy rice.”
In her post, Katie also shares the recipe of her hearty steam oven-made chicken curry step by step, for anyone wanting to try it at home. Although she loved the appliance, she ponders about what she would make of it.
“If I was a Hollywood starlet who needed to live on a permanent diet of steamed fish, chicken and vegetables, then maybe this would be top of my Christmas list.”
